The Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers
Association (SASCMA) is the premier organization of art silk
weavers not only in this region but even in India. Its existence have
been recognised not only by Central and State Governments but also
by premier trade and industry organizations. The association was established
on 25-2-1955 and is located in its own premises at Resham Bhavan,
Lal Darwaja, Surat- 395 003. It is also a founder member of Federation
of Indian Art Silk Weaving Industry (FIASWI) and the Chairman of The
Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers Association (SASCMA) has
the unique distinction to be the Chairman of Federation of Indian
Art Silk Weaving Industry (FIASWI) and thus lead this Industry spread
over the entire country.
The Surat Art Silk Cloth
Manufacturers Association (SASCMA) has settled “Man
Made Weaving Industry Welfare & Relief Trust in 1975. This Trust
have played on exemplary role in promoting research, testing and consultancy
facilities and Human Resource Development for the industry by playing
a leading role in establishing Man Made Textiles Research Association
(MANTRA), Surat Technical Education Society (STERS) and Textile Faculty
in Sarvajanik Engineering College, Surat. The Chairman and Directors
of The Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers Association (SASCMA)
play an active role in the administration of these Institutions. |

The Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers Association (SASCMA)
is also publishing its Monthly Bulletin “SASCMA BULLETIN”.
The articles published covers the topics not only on local and national
also on international level progress in research, production technique,
new products and news about the Industry. It also covers news and
circulars government policies and WTO. It acquaints the readdress
with market news and also local prices of various products. On the
occasion of completing 50 years of its meaningful existence on 25-2-2005,
the Trust of SASCMA published a Catalogue of “Surat
Brand Fabric Samples” for promoting exports of man made fabrics.
Information Technology is “The Tool”
now for any industry to achieve progress and prosperity. The
Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers Association (SASCMA)
is perhaps the first Weaver’s Association to use this tool
by presenting our Website “www.sascma.org” for the benefit
of man made fabrics weavers of our country. It presents each and
every details of the local industry including its products. Government
Policy information and circulars and useful information related
to WTO and also of industries’ developmental activities will
be put on website.
